Psoriasis
Psoriasis, a skin disorder, affects approximately 2 to 5% of the population. The origin of psoriasis is still unknown, however researchers believe that the immune system and genetic factors play an essential role in the development of this disease. Psoriasis is the result of hyper proliferation: the immune system sends incorrect signals, which accelerates the skin cellular division to four to six days instead of three to four weeks. This excess of cells accumulate on the skin's surface creating a localized inflammation (redness) and white flakes (scales), that are harmless, but have physical damage. As to this day, no treatment can completely cure psoriasis, however, it can be relieved and controlled if the patient uses products that are appropriate to them.
90% of psoriasis patients suffer from mild-to-moderate psoriasis. Natural health products, such as Dermylex®, can play an important role in treating and controlling these symptoms.
